Short Term Scientific Missions
What is a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM)?
- The aim of a STSM is to contribute to the scientific objectives of a COST Action. These Missions (Inter-laboratory Exchange Visits) aim at strengthening the existing COST Actions by allowing scientists to go to an institution or laboratory in another COST country to foster collaboration, to learn a new technique or to take measurements using instruments and/or methods not available in their own institution/laboratory. They are particularly intended for young scientists
- Period: min. 5 working days and max. 3 months. For ESRs up to 6 months
- max. contribution for a mission of 3 months is 2500 Euros or up to 6 months and 3500 Euros for ESRs.The financial support is a fixed contribution to the costs of a STSM and may not necessarily cover all the costs.
Who can apply?
- Undergraduate students, PhD-students, early stage researchers, Researchers with their lab in one of the current member states of this COST Action.This institution shall be actively participating in the COST Action.
- Researchers with a proposal related to the topic of this COST Action
